Being offered for sale is the antique LARGE & HEAVY, 201 LB. CAST BRASS/BRONZE LOCOMOTIVE BELL (all original & complete with cradle, yoke, clapper, pull-arm lever & 6-point hex nut finial - previous owner believes this bell to be off a Reading Railroad train, as she was told by her mother - she had no documentation to support this but her word is nonetheless noteworthy) by unknown maker (no identifiable maker's mark(s) - though there are (2) partial casting numbers at cradle top, see pics 8 & 10), from circa 1870-1890's (best educated guess), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. CONDITION NOTES:

Very Good/VG+ antique condition with a dent at center-top of yoke at one side (see red arrows 9th pic) but otherwise just minor -to- moderate overall cosmetic wear (small dings, dents, scuffs, scratches, stains, etc.) throughout but NO breaks or repairs. Fully functional and incredibly loud! Simply outstanding, ultra rich patina throughout. Incredible example of an extraordinary piece of history!! See pics.

DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT:

Bell measures 16-1/4" diameter (at rim of lip) x 14-1/4" tall, overall. Cradle is 22-1/4" wide, overall x 24-3/4" tall, base -to- finial. Base is 8" diameter. Clapper ball is 3-1/2" diameter. Nut finial is 4" "diameter". Bell alone weighs 96 lbs. Total weight is 201-1/2 lbs.
