Being offered for sale is the antique SCREW-ADJUSTING STEEL NUT WRENCH / HAMMER COMBINATION TOOL by J. RICE & CO. (marked example (many J. Rice wrenches not marked) - stamped "J. RICE", "1" & "10" at hammer-end/bottom jaw (see 2nd & 3rd pic) and "26" at bottom jaw's face (see 9th pic)) from circa the late 19th or very early 20th century (best guess...very little info on this maker/wrench out there, even in the many books we have - it is listed but gives no real info), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale AS-FOUND, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED or your money back...no questions asked!

Good/Very Good antique condition with moderate overall wear from normal use over the years (i.e. dings, dents, scratches, scuffs and light rust & pitting throughout) and a minor split at screw connection point (see red arrow in last pic for close-up). Split is thru the outer layer of steel but is NOT split all the way thru. Seems to be cosmetic only, with zero affect on the screw adjusting jaws. Fully functional tool with superb patina throughout. All in all, a fantastic example of a very hard to find old wrench!! See pics.

Measures 9-3/4" long, overall, when jaws are closed. Jaws are 1" wide, open 3-3/4" max and are flush when touching. Weighs 2 lbs. 1.5 oz..
